Do you always feel amazed and flabbergasted with the sparkling RGB lights, especially those colorful lights that use to decorate your house on Christmas or big events?

Well, if you have the chance to DIY yourself instead of adoring others, will you dare to try it?

This is a straightforward small project, which only requires these materials:

  • A Programmer for AVRisp MKII
  • An 8Mhz Microcontroller Atmega8
  • A voltage regulator 7805
  • A 9v Power supply
  • Two 100uF Capacitors
  • Two 100nF Capacitors
  • A 1n4004 Diode
  • Two ML10 Connectors for PCBs
  • A Jack power connector
  • A Clem of three connections
  • A Pinheader of 3 × 2 pins

The concept is to use the AVR microcontroller to create a simple and ease to use RGB mirror. We will develop and apply a circuit that can manage through an AVR microcontroller Atmega8, which mainly uses the Arduino. With this method, we can easily remote and control the 16 RGB LEDs.

The three basic colors (red, blue and green) will be used for the spectrum, with 1 bit per color. This means there will be eight colors, including the white and black colors will be showing up. [link] [en link]
