Outstanding Combination of Fan Regulator and Voltage Monitor
Ever thinking of combine the LM2941 Manual Fan Regulator and LM 3914 Voltage Monitor into a cool stuff?
All you need to prepare are:
- LM2941 Manual Fan Regulator

- LM 3914 Voltage Monitor

- Six LED’s
- Potentiometer
Why we used LM2941 instead of many other types? Well, it is because LM2941 has five pins, the adjust pin is separate and even an “ON/OFF” pin provided for shutdown the regulator remotely! The LM2941 is rate at 1A max.
One of the reason we use six LED’s because to control the output voltage at 7V to 12V (1V/LED). The voltage divider on the input (R1-R2) will automatically reduce the 7-12V input to about 1.96V-3.36V.
- Note: 7V x 0.28 = 1.96V; 12V x 0.28 = 3.36V.
If 12/12 of 3.36V, the 12V readout; while 7/12 of 3.36V, the 7V readout.

For calibration:
- Minimum speed setting: try to set trimpot P2 on the voltage monitor to lit only the lowest led.
- Maximum speed setting: remember to set trimpot P1 on the voltage monitor to lit all six leds.
