First of all, hold on a second! This Drone has nothing to do with the Star Trek: Voyager, but rather a brilliant slightly de-tuning two oscillators.

A drone is capable to create a rhythmic phase canceling effect as the output waves line up and diverge. In most cases, the density of the drone can be increased by adding more oscillators tuned by harmonic steps above or below the other oscillators. Usually, the Drone Lab is engineered to allow for the creation of dense, pulsing drones. A series of filters and a distortion circuit have been built in, as it’s for adding more depth and variation to the drone.

For your information, the Drone Lab Version 2 is a four voice analog drone synth, rhythm generator and FX processor. It has the ability of generating rich, textured soundscapes, hypnotic drones and complex rhythmic sequences. Plus, it features a series of filter and distortions circuit, alongside with an audio input jack.
