You love to have a universal RC5/RC6 transceiver, but you don’t want to spend over hundreds of dollars to buy it? Hmm…, there’s an option for you here, you can choose to develop a universal RC5/RC6 transceiver with your own creativity and imagination!

If you refer to the above figure, you’ve this type of thought, “Why I have to waste my time developing this ordinary stuff?” Well, it might look very simple and unprofessional for most of you, but this stuff has two incredible functions!

By using this universal RC5/RC6 transceiver, you can read the RC5, RC5X and RC6 codes from any remote controls on a LCD, or you can send all thinkable RC5, RC5X and RC6 codes to a device.

It’s how the universal RC5/RC6 transceiver works:

First of all, the TSOP1736 (IR receiver) receives an infrared (IR) signal from a RC5/RC6 remote control burns LED1 (green). Next, the LCD is showing when it receives a new type of code for one second; it can either be in RC5, RC5X or RC6 protocols. Then, the LCD showing the RC5/RC6 system and command code in decimal as well in binary.

For your information, the LED2 (red) burns if the received signal is poor or it’s not an actual signal from RC5, RC5X or RC6!
