This Multipurpose “Third Hand” Will be Your Good Assistant
A Home electronic hobbyist supposed enjoy the moment of creating or modifying electronic related projects. Have you been very pissed off or frustrated about the third hands that available in the electronic shop, and the main reason is it cannot hold the board or chip properly because of the inflexible alligator clips?

Sweep the frustration away by DIY a multipurpose “Third Hand” yourself (Don’t worry, this project will cost you $20 or less).
Those tools you needed:
- A drill (Prefer the drill press)
- 3/8″ drill bit
- 1/8-27 NPT tap
- 6-32 Tap
- A tap handle
- Ruler
- Center punch
The Base:
You can use a block of ½” thick aluminium (You can order this aluminium online for about $6 plus shipping fee).
The Arms:
You will need these for each arm:
- One 1/8 NPT connector
- 5″ of hose
- One 1/8″ 90 degree nozzle
The Hands:
Choose the “Flexible Banana Plugs (2-pack)” from radioshack, as it has 6-32 threads, which enable the thread into the nozzle. The alligator clips would be the standard 2″ size, larger is also acceptable. [link]
